Department of State Removes Visa Wait Time Chart Without Notice
Without prior notice or explanation, the U.S. Department of State has deactivated its visa wait time chart from its website. The last recorded update to the chart was on January 7, 2025.
Previously, visa applicants could use the Department of State’s website to check estimated wait times for specific visa categories at various U.S. consulates and plan accordingly. For example, an applicant seeking a B-2 Tourist Visa in Bangkok, Thailand, could see that the average wait time was approximately 15 days.
With the removal of this resource, applicants must now complete the DS-160 online application and pay the required visa fees before gaining access to available appointment dates. This change affects all individuals applying for U.S. visas abroad and reduces transparency in processing times for both applicants and employers.
Given this shift, we strongly encourage applicants to apply for visas as early as possible to account for potential delays. If you have any questions or need assistance with the visa application process, our team is here to help.
